Welcome to CWC, Sarah Wise!

CWC is excited to announce the addition of our newest staff member, Sarah Wise! Sarah joins Common Wealth Charlotte as a Financial Counselor. In this role, she will assist financial and credit counseling with clients to help them obtain their long-term goal of greater financial wellness.

Sarah was born in Scottsdale, Arizona and after multiple moves, she established herself in Charlotte starting in 2000. In pursuing her college degrees, she did spend time in Pembroke, NC and Pittsburgh, PA. Having received her BSW from UNC-Charlotte and her MSW from the University of Pittsburgh, Sarah has gained much of her professional experience working in Adult Protective Services in Robeson County, Florence Crittenton Services as a Residential Counselor in Charlotte, and Three Rivers Adoption Council in Pittsburgh (trauma-focused services/adoptions for children ages 3-17). She also worked at McLeod Addictive Disease Center in the adolescent and adult inpatient programs.

In the last 10 years, she has been dedicated to acute inpatient rehabilitation, servicing individuals who have suffered a stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, or other illnesses that caused debilities. As you can imagine, these individuals’ financial stability was impacted by whether they would not be able to return to work, being uninsured, being on a fixed income with unforeseen medical expenses, and their need to spend money for in-home caregiver assistance or assisted living facilities. That experience brought Sarah closer to working with the Social Security Administration, Department of Social Services, and community resources (such as NC MedAssist, to name a few).

Her favorite financial motto is, "the most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity (Amelia Earhart)."

We are excited to have Sarah as part of the CWC team!
