Economic stability. It is one of the five social determinants of health, as recognized by the CDC. Yet, with so much attention given to healthcare and education, its importance is often overlooked. And statistics show that >70% of people who find themselves in financial distress turn to their manager at work first. While you want your managers to care about your employees, wouldn’t you prefer they remain focused on the job at hand?

Now, they can. As a Common Wealth Charlotte Certified Financial Health Workplace™, the hourly wage employees at your company will receive benefits offered by only a select number of employers. Financially-stable employees are happier, more content and less likely to seek other employment. It’s a win for your employees, a win for your team, and a feather in your cap!

  • Financial Literacy Education

Most people in today’s economy have not enjoyed the benefits of basic financial literacy education. How do I use a bank account? What makes up my credit score? What is a predatory loan and how can I avoid them? As a CWC Financial Health Workplace® (FHW), you will provide vital financial literacy training onsite - a benefit most companies ignore - or virtually to any team member 24/7.

  • Certified Credit Counseling

Everyone’s situation is different. Some team members are single parents with children. Others may be older and considering retirement. As an FHW, NACCC® certified financial health counselors will come to your facility and be available to every member of your team at no charge - as many times as needed - to dig deep into his or her particular situation and create solid, actionable plans.

  • Emergency Loan Program

You’ve probably considered an emergency assistance fund for your team. A better solution is your own FHW Emergency Loan Program. You’ll place loan capital on reserve, and CWC will administer 0% interest, no fee loans to help your team with unexpected financial emergencies. As loans are repaid, your funds recycle, maximizing the impact. Plus, your team members can see increased credit scores.

  • Volunteer Income Tax Assistance

Common Wealth Charlotte is an IRS-approved VITA provider. As a certified FHW®, you will have the opportunity to host a VITA site at your facility, allowing qualified team members to register for no-cost assistance in filing federal and state income taxes. You’ll assist in avoiding high-interest refund anticipation loans, and offer a reputable, cost-saving alternative to other options. NOTE: Registration based on availability.

  • No-cost Credit Union or Bank Accounts

Having the right banking accounts is critical to financial health. CWC will assist your team members in getting banked at the bank or credit union of their choice. NOTE: CWC will pay the initial deposit for credit union memberships!

  • Access to Generation2080

Generation2080™ is CWC’s program to encourage and promote building generational wealth. As an FHW, we can build a G2080 cohort exclusively for your own team members, further ensuring each member’s long-term financial health.
