CWC Welcomes Jim Bales!

CWC is excited to announce the addition of our newest staff member, Jim Bales! Jim joins Common Wealth Charlotte as Accountant. In this role, he will bring 35+ years of experience doing bookkeeping and tax preparation. 

Having moved to Charlotte 25 years ago, Jim has spent the past 14 years focusing on nonprofit accounting and working for Ascend Nonprofit Solutions. He has a heart for the nonprofit community because it allows him to “help people help people.” And he is no stranger to CWC! In fact, Jim introduced our most-recent Controller to the organization, and the rest was universal fate.  

His hometown is Cedar Rapids, Iowa, but he lived in Texas for 20 years before settling in Charlotte and calling NC “home.” Jim loves how Charlotte still has a small-town feel for the size of a city that it is, he enjoys the good people here, and is grateful for how close it is to both beach and mountains. His favorite financial motto is, “cash is king, and debt is not your friend.”
