CWC Welcomes Annissa as Financial Counselor!

CWC is excited to announce the addition of our newest staff member, Annissa McDowell! Annissa joins Common Wealth Charlotte as a Financial Counselor. In this role, she will assist individuals and families in achieving their financial goals by empowering them with the knowledge and tools needed to make informed financial decisions, whether it’s budgeting, saving, or navigating debt. 

As a South Carolina native and proud graduate of Johnson C. Smith University, she initially came to CWC by becoming a Certified Financial Educator. Annissa holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and brings more than 20 years of experience in financial services, with deep expertise in operational risk management, regulatory governance, and third‑party oversight. She has a strong passion for financial literacy to empower financial choices which results in achieving short- and long-term goals. Her favorite thing about Charlotte is the strong sense of community. “The city continues to grow, yet it maintains a welcoming, connected feel that makes it easy to build meaningful relationships both personally and professionally,” she claims. 

Annissa’s favorite financial motto is, “When we manage our resources with purpose and clarity, we build strength in ourselves, share knowledge with our community, and create lasting opportunities for the generations that follow.”
